International conference opens in Shusha
A two-day international conference "Development of the post-conflict humanitarian agenda: Sustainable development through the revival of the cultural environment" has started in the city of Shusha.
Culture Minister Anar Karimov, ICESCO [Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization] Director-General Salim bin Mohammed al-Malik, Secretary-General Organization of Turkish States (OTG) Baghdad Amreyev and others are attending the ceremony to open the conference, Caliber.az reports, citing Report informs.
During the event, the plan of issues of the "Peace for Culture" campaign will be discussed, the main focus of which is to ensure sustainable peace on the territories liberated from occupation in the post-conflict period, the return of national and spiritual values to these lands.
As part of the plenary sessions, the conference participants will discuss issues of preserving the regional ecosystem; prospects for preserving cultural heritage; contribution of cultural heritage preservation to peace, dialogue and cooperation; issues of cultural heritage as the basis of sustainable peace; the role of culture in building dialogue in the post-conflict period, as well as the application of heritage management policy in the context of urbanism.
