Iran restores 89% of petrochemical facilities after wartime disruption
Iran’s 89% of petrochemical facilities that were forced offline during the recent war have now resumed operations, Mohammad Shariatmadari, an Iranian energy official, has stated.
The chief executive of Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company said that facilities affected by recent disruptions have been brought back into operation following what he described as swift reconstruction efforts, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Times of Israel.
He added that while some units are already running above their nominal capacity, others have still not returned to full production levels.
Iran imposed a ban on petrochemical exports in April in order to safeguard domestic supply after production in the sector was disrupted by Israeli strikes that targeted utility companies supplying feedstock to petrochemical plants.
