A delegation led by Iran's Deputy-Chief Prosecutor Ghulam Abbas Turki paid a working visit to Azerbaijan on April 2 to participate in a meeting of representatives of the prosecutor general's offices of the five Caspian littoral states.

Azerbaijani Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev noted that the objective decision of Iranian law enforcement agencies to punish the person who committed the terrorist attack against the Azerbaijani embassy in Tehran in January 2023 deserves approval, the Azerbaijani Prosecutor General's Office told APA.

Ghulam Abbas Turki conveyed congratulations on the occasion of the confident victory of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in the snap presidential election, as well as on the liberation of lands that had been under occupation for more than 30 years.

He also said that the upcoming holding of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change - COP29 in Azerbaijan, which is one of the most prestigious international events in the world, once again shows the great trust and respect of the countries for Azerbaijan, including its growing reputation on a global scale.

The sides exchanged views on the protection of the rights of citizens of both countries, border, customs, environmental issues, legal assistance in criminal cases, extradition, humanitarian issues, etc.

Iranian ambassador to Azerbaijan Seyed Abbas Mousavi took part in the meeting.
