Iran’s internet blackout hits 39 days
Iran has entered the 39th consecutive day of a near‑total internet blackout, with connectivity to the global network cut for more than 912 hours, independent monitors say.
According to digital rights group NetBlocks, the restrictions have isolated most Iranians from the international internet, leaving only a domestic digital network — effectively an intranet — available to users inside the country, Caliber.Az reports.
“The measure leaves most Iranians isolated from the global network known as the internet, with only a domestic digital service, or intranet, now available,” NetBlocks said in a post on X.
