Iran’s non-oil exports to Azerbaijan surge
Iran's non-oil exports to Azerbaijan have seen a significant increase, rising by 65% in value and 16% in weight during the first five months of the current Iranian year (March 20 – August 21, 2024) compared to the same period last year, according to statistics from Iran's Customs Administration.
Iran exported 364,000 tons of non-oil goods to Azerbaijan during this period, valued at $298 million. This is a notable jump from the same period in 2023, when Iran exported 313,000 tons worth $181 million, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
The export products largely consisted of agricultural and food items, as well as industrial, petrochemical, and chemical goods.
Overall, Iran's non-oil exports for the first five months of the year amounted to 55.9 million tons, valued at $19.3 billion. While the total export value increased by 26.5% compared to the same period last year, the export weight decreased by 8.55%.
Iran's exports to Azerbaijan mainly consisted of agricultural and food products, industrial goods, and petrochemical and chemical products. It is also noteworthy that Iran's total non-oil exports amounted to $17.5 billion and 47.9 million tons over the four months .
