Iran sends note of protest to France over embassy attack in Paris

Press secretary of the Iranian Foreign Ministry Nasser Kanani has said that a note of protest was sent to colleagues in France due to the attack on the Iranian embassy in Paris.

An unknown person threw a Molotov cocktail at the door of the Iranian embassy in Paris on September 9, where the consular department was working, TASS reports citing Fars news agency.

“Iran condemns this action; the attack on the embassy is an attempt to interfere with the work of the consular department and an attack on the rights of citizens applying there to receive consular services. We expressed our protest in an official note that we sent to the French authorities,” Kanani said.

He said that a few days before the attack, the Iranian side warned the French government that someone might attack the Iranian embassy, moreover, Iran asked the French authorities and some other European countries to strengthen the security of Iranian embassies.
