Iran to resume nuclear talks with European powers
Iran, along with Britain, France, and Germany, has agreed to continue discussions on Iran’s nuclear program and other key matters in the near future.
The announcement was made by Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi via social media, Caliber.Az reports per Russian media.
"Another round of frank talks with representatives of France, Germany, and the UK. We decided to continue diplomatic dialogue in the near future," Gharibabadi posted.
The discussions, which took place in Geneva on November 29, focused on a wide range of issues, including bilateral, regional, and international developments, with particular emphasis on nuclear matters and the potential lifting of sanctions.
Gharibabadi reaffirmed Iran’s commitment to defending the interests of its people, stating that the country prefers the path of dialogue and engagement.
On November 29, the deputy foreign ministers of Iran and the Eurotroika met in Geneva.
Earlier reports indicated that the discussions were focused on the prospects of resuming the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) to address the Iranian nuclear issue. Additionally, the talks covered the recent sanctions imposed by the EU on Iranian aviation and maritime companies.
