Iran warns of "new tactics," stronger response if US, Israel launch strikes

26 May 2026 15:18

A spokesperson for Iran’s armed forces has warned that Tehran would adopt “new tactics of warfare” and deliver a significantly stronger response if the United States or Israel carry out further strikes against Iranian territory.

Abolfazl Shekarchi said Iran remains fully prepared for escalation and has not been weakened by previous conflicts, Caliber.Az reports per Iranian media.

Shekarchi said Iran was fully prepared for war and would respond forcefully to what he described as “any attack and new adventurism” against the country.

He also stressed that any future Iranian response “will be different from before,” adding that opponents would face “surprises and new tactics.”

“We have not been weakened. On the contrary, we have only grown stronger. [...] The production of missiles and drones [in our country] did not cease during the war, and the enemy will never succeed in locating the sites where they are deployed. We have gained significant [combat] experience and will employ different tactical approaches,” Shekarchi said in an interview with Al Jazeera.

He added that Iran’s military is closely monitoring adversary movements and has identified potential targets for retaliatory strikes.

According to Shekarchi, any future Iranian strikes “will be much more severe and heavier than the previous two wars.”

He further warned that a new conflict would not remain confined to the region, suggesting broader consequences beyond the immediate theatre of operations.
