Iranian intelligence disbands “terror, sabotage” groups in four provinces
Iran's Intelligence Ministry has announced the discovery and dismantling of "terrorist groups" and "saboteurs" in several provinces.
The devices ranged from sound bombs to automatic weapons such as Goryunov and US-made M-16 machine guns, were seized from the terrorist network during operations conducted in Khuzestan, Kermanshah, Mazandaran and Sistan-Baluchestan provinces, IRIB News Agency reported on August 30.
The ministry said the detainees, excluding those in Sistan-Baluchestan, were linked to a "terrorist centre" led by an Iranian rapper based in Denmark and his Iranian aide, a former painter and graphics artist, who lives in the Netherlands.
The Intelligence Ministry added that the rapper-led "terrorist centre" also used Germany and Turkey as their bases and carried out the orders of Israel.
It also accused the detainees of planning to bomb the grave of Qasem Soleimani, late commander of the Quds Force, an IRGC division primarily responsible for extraterritorial and clandestine military operations.
The statement added that the detentions were a continuation of the operations that targeted a "terrorist" network in late July in which 14 "terrorists" were arrested and 43 bombs were seized.
