Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian receives Azerbaijani presidential aide in Tehran
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has received Hikmat Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, during an official meeting in Tehran.
"Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian received the Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Hikmat Hajiyev. During the meeting, Mr. Hajiyev conveyed the sincere greetings of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, and extended an invitation for him to visit our country," Caliber.Az reports, citing the Azerbaijani Embassy in Iran.

In response, the Iranian president expressed his gratitude for the invitation and asked Hajiyev to relay his sincere greetings to President Aliyev.
Hikmat Hajiyev’s visit to Tehran comes as part of broader efforts to strengthen Azerbaijani-Iranian relations through high-level diplomatic engagements. During his trip, Hajiyev held several key meetings with senior Iranian officials, including Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Ali Akbar Ahmadian, Political Advisor to the Iranian President Mehdi Sanaei, and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
Discussions focused on various aspects of bilateral ties, including regional cooperation, confidence-building measures, and addressing any misunderstandings between the two nations. The parties also explored ways to expand cooperation beyond diplomacy, particularly in economic and trade sectors, reflecting a shared interest in deepening strategic engagement.
