Iranian vessels arrive in Azerbaijan for AZIREX-2025 exercise
Vessels and servicemen of the Iranian Army’s Naval Forces have entered Azerbaijan’s territorial waters and arrived at the designated point to participate in the joint search-and-rescue exercises “AZIREX−2025".
A ceremonial reception of the vessels took place, attended by the Azerbaijani Navy’s command and other officials, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence.
Following the ceremony, the Commander of the Azerbaijani Navy met with the Iranian delegation to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation and organising the joint “AZIREX−2025” exercises.
A briefing on the drills was held, during which questions from participants were answered.
The main goal of the exercises is to ensure safety in the Caspian Sea and to strengthen interaction and coordination in search and rescue operations between the navies of two neighbouring countries.
