On September 20, Islamabad played host to a seminar titled "Sovereignty and Constitution: Strengthening Statehood" on the occasion of Azerbaijan's State Sovereignty Day.
The event was organized under the auspices of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Pakistan at the National University of Modern Languages (NUML), one of Pakistan's most prestigious academic institutions, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
The seminar convened a diverse audience including NUML’s academic faculty and student body, alongside representatives from prominent local think tanks, media organizations, and NGOs. Embassy officials were also present, underscoring the diplomatic importance of the occasion.
In his address, Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Khazar Farhadov, underscored the profound significance of September 20 as State Sovereignty Day and highlighted the designation of 2025 as the “Year of Constitution and Sovereignty” in Azerbaijan.
He emphasized that the nation’s inaugural Constitution, adopted on November 12, 1995, under the visionary leadership of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, served as a cornerstone for comprehensive legislative and institutional reforms, shaping the country’s modern statehood and governance framework.
