Islamabad, Lima landmarks illuminate in Azerbaijani flag colours to mark Victory Day PHOTO
Buildings in Pakistan and Peru have been lit up in the colours of Azerbaijan’s national flag to mark the fifth anniversary of the country’s Victory Day, commemorating the end of the 2020 Patriotic War.
In Islamabad, major landmarks, including the Prime Minister’s Office, the Parliament, and the Supreme Court, were illuminated in blue, red, and green — the colours of the Azerbaijani flag, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
The gesture symbolises Pakistan’s solidarity with Azerbaijan. The iconic Pakistan Monument and several city streets were also decorated with the flags of Azerbaijan, Pakistan, and Türkiye.
The Mövenpick Hotel in Islamabad featured a light display bearing the message “Victory Day of the Republic of Azerbaijan”, further underscoring the significance of the occasion.
Meanwhile, in Peru’s capital, Lima, the Miraflores district’s city hall was lit up in Azerbaijan’s national colours. According to the Azerbaijani embassy in Peru, the illumination of the historic and cultural landmark served as a tribute to Azerbaijan’s Victory Day and a sign of friendship between the two nations.
