Kazakh defence minister joins Baku military parade for Victory Day
Kazakh Defence Minister Dauren Kosanov has arrived in Baku to take part in a military parade commemorating the fifth anniversary of Victory in the Second Karabakh War.
Kazakhstan’s ambassador to Azerbaijan, Alim Bayel, shared the news on social media, writing: "In a few minutes, a military parade will begin in Baku. The Minister of Defence of Kazakhstan has specially arrived to participate in the parade. From the bottom of our hearts, we congratulate brotherly Azerbaijan on Victory Day! May the Almighty grant paradise to all Martyrs."
Victory Day, observed annually on November 8, marks the liberation of Shusha during the 44-day Patriotic War in 2020. The capture of the city was a decisive moment that led to the end of large-scale hostilities in Karabakh and is celebrated as a symbol of restored territorial integrity.
The holiday honours the heroism of Azerbaijani soldiers, commemorates those who sacrificed their lives for the homeland, and emphasises national unity and cultural heritage.
