Kazakhstan appoints Magzhan Ilyassov as new ambassador to US

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan has appointed Magzhan Ilyassov as the country’s new ambassador to the United States.

According to official reports from Akorda, the presidential decree names Ilyasov as the extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the United States of America.

The decree also confirms that Ilyassov has been relieved of his previous positions as Kazakhstan’s ambassador to the United Kingdom, as well as ambassador to Iceland and Ireland, the latter two on a non-resident basis.
