Kazakhstan to launch three domestic satellites in 2027
Kazakhstan plans to launch three domestically developed satellites into orbit in 2027, according to Kaiyrzhan Kozhayev, the head of the national company “Kazakhstan Gharysh Sapary.”
Kozhayev said that the assembly and testing phase will begin in mid-2026, with completion expected by the end of the year, allowing for a launch in early 2027, Caliber.Az reports, citing Kazakh media.
The project will replace a satellite built with European partners and launched in 2014.
Kozhayev noted that this was only the first step, because in the future, by 2029–2030, they plan to produce three more spacecraft to form a constellation of six satellites.
He made it clear that 18 billion tenge (approximately $37.5 million) has been allocated from the state budget for the construction of the first three satellites to be launched into orbit.
