Kremlin: Moscow receives revised Ukraine peace plan from Washington
The United States has delivered updated parameters of its proposed peace plan for Ukraine to the Russian government following consultations with Ukrainian officials in Geneva, according to the Kremlin.
Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov said the main elements of the plan had been communicated to Moscow and that further talks were expected to take place next week, Caliber.Az reports via TASS.
The revised proposal follows a 28-point US peace plan discussed between US and Ukrainian officials on November 23. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio described those consultations in Geneva as the most productive since the outbreak of the war, while Ukrainian media said Washington and Kyiv had reached agreement on most elements of the plan.
Rubio indicated that points concerning Ukraine’s European integration and NATO membership had been moved to a separate negotiation track.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has signaled that the US proposal could potentially serve as a basis for a broader settlement.
Separately, on November 25, US President Donald Trump said he had instructed Special Envoy Witkoff and US Army Secretary Dan Driscoll to finalise the terms of a peace deal between Russia and Ukraine. According to Trump, Witkoff would travel to Moscow, and if negotiations reached a concluding stage, he intended to meet with both Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
