Kremlin rejects need for proof after alleged drone attack on Putin’s residence VIDEO

30 December 2025 14:43

The Kremlin has indicated that it does not see the need to present physical evidence concerning the alleged drone attack on Russian President Vladimir Putin’s residence.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov made the remarks in response to journalists’ questions regarding proof of the incident, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.

“I do not believe any physical evidence is necessary when a large-scale drone raid is conducted, which, thanks to the well-coordinated work of our air defences, was intercepted and neutralized. As for debris, I cannot comment—that is naturally a matter for our military. I am aware that Zelenskyy himself is attempting to deny this, and many Western media outlets, siding with the Kyiv regime, are promoting the narrative that it did not occur. These are entirely absurd claims,” Peskov stated.

Peskov also characterized the incident as a “terrorist act,” asserting that it was intended to disrupt the negotiation process and represented an attack not only on the Russian president but also on US President Donald Trump. In this context, he said, Moscow plans to adopt a tougher stance in upcoming negotiations.

On December 29, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov affirmed that Russia will continue to engage in diplomatic negotiations regarding Ukraine, despite the recent drone attack targeting President Vladimir Putin’s official residence.

However, Lavrov emphasized that Moscow’s negotiating position would be reassessed.

The top diplomat revealed that the attempted strike involved 91 drones and targeted the presidential residence in Novgorod Oblast.

The minister further warned that Russia would not leave the drone strike unanswered, noting that Moscow has already identified potential targets and timing for a retaliatory response.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has rejected claims that the Ukrainian Armed Forces were involved in an attack on Russian President Vladimir Putin’s residence in the Novgorod region.

Writing on his X page, Zelenskyy emphasised that the alleged story about a strike on the residence is fabricated.
