Kremlin unaware of Wagner chief Prigozhin's whereabouts, spokesman says
Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov has said that he does not know where the Wagner boss Yevgeny Prigozhin currently is.
The Kremlin spokesman said Russian authorities do not monitor data on Prigozhin, according to Kommersant.
"I have no such information, I know nothing about it," Peskov said during a conference call when asked if he knew the whereabouts of Yevgeny Prigozhin.
In addition, the press secretary of the Russian president would not comment on reports about possible resignations and rearrangements in security and military agencies and institutions of Russia in connection with the attempted mutiny by the founder of the Wagner PMC.
According to Peskov, the matter is "not within his prerogative.
On June 28, the Fontanka newspaper reported that "a man who looks like Yevgeny Prigozhin" may have been in St. Petersburg city yesterday. Unnamed sources based in the city said that they allegedly saw Yevgeny Prigozhin near his St. Petersburg office. Prigozhin himself did not comment on this information.
