CNN: Iran shifts to precision strikes, denies claims of scaling back
Iran has rejected Israel’s claim that dwindling missile stockpiles have forced it to scale back launches, instead attributing the change to a strategic shift in its missile policy.
A senior Iranian official told CNN that Tehran is now prioritising quality over quantity in its missile operations. Rather than launching large salvos, Iran is focusing on deploying advanced precision missiles to target sensitive military and security sites, Caliber.Az reports.
"It was observed that Iran launched a missile and the missile easily made its way through American THAAD, Patriot, Arrow 3, Arrow 2, David’s Sling and the family of Iron Dome systems, striking the predetermined target," the official said, referring to Israel’s network of missile defence systems.
Israel "should not be happy about the decrease in the number of missiles fired and better keep silent and merely become an observer in the face of the new balance of Iranian superior power," the official added.
