Kuwait’s residents view Azerbaijan’s tourism potential at Tourism and Travel Exhibition

The Tourism and Travel Exhibition is being held at the Sabah Al Salem University City of Kuwait State University from June 10 to 13.

Besides the representatives of the local organisations representing various sectors of Kuwait's tourism sector, the representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Kuwait also attended the event, the embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Kuwait told Azertag.

The Azerbaijani stand was installed at the exhibition thanks to the embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Kuwait. The exhibition visitors viewed the Azerbaijani history, culture, tourism potential and tasted the national meals. They were also informed about the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the State of Kuwait in 2024 and the declaration of the cultural capital of Azerbaijan, the city of Shusha, as the “cultural capital of the Islamic world”.

The exhibition stand is dedicated to the sights of the Azerbaijani cities and districts, including Shusha. The copies of the book entitled “Shusha: the capital of Azerbaijani culture, the pearl of Karabakh,” published thanks to the embassy, were presented to the exhibition visitors.

The exhibition visitors were also informed that Azerbaijan will host the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change in November 2024 that’s why 2024 has been declared the “Green World Solidarity Year” in Azerbaijan. The COP29 logo and videos about the upcoming event were shown on screens installed in the hall.

The teachers and students of Kuwait University, as well as public representatives, also attended the exhibition.

The exhibition visitors were informed about the dates of Baku-Kuwait-Baku flights operated by the Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) and the services which are rendered there.

A virtual tour of the historical and cultural monuments and sights of Azerbaijan was also demonstrated at the exhibition stand.

The embassy was awarded a certificate from Kuwait University for active participation in the exhibition.
