Latvia’s FM to visit Yerevan for talks on Azerbaijan–Armenia peace process
Latvia’s Foreign Minister Baiba Braže will travel to Armenia’s capital Yerevan for a two-day working visit from May 6-7, the Latvian Foreign Ministry said on May 6.
Braže is scheduled to meet Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan for discussions on bilateral relations between Latvia and Armenia, as well as broader cooperation between the European Union and Armenia.
The talks are expected to focus on the outcomes of the first EU–Armenia summit held on May 5, alongside developments on the regional and international agenda.
According to the ministry, the ministers will also address the Armenia–Azerbaijan peace process, Russia’s war in Ukraine, and the situation in the Middle East.
The visit comes amid efforts by Yerevan to deepen ties with the European Union while navigating ongoing regional tensions in the South Caucasus.
