Massive attack hits Russia's Belgorod, energy facilities damaged
A massive attack was reported in the Russian city of Belgorod on the evening of January 24, resulting in damage to energy infrastructure and temporary power and heating disruptions, according to local officials.
“According to our information, this was the most intense shelling of the city of Belgorod, presumably using HIMARS. Preliminary reports indicate there are no casualties. Energy facilities have been damaged. We are currently gathering information. On-duty crews and emergency services have been dispatched to the sites,” Governor Gladkov wrote, ASTRA reports.
“Following the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ missile strike, the pumps at a booster pumping station that supplies heat to several residential buildings in the Khargora district were shut down. Emergency teams are already on site and are working to restore operations,” Mayor Demidov added.
