Media: Azerbaijan plans to build cultural centre in Kyiv's suburb
Azerbaijan plans to construct a cultural centre in the Ukrainian city of Irpin, Kyiv Oblast, Caliber.Az reports, citing Ukrainian media outlet Open4business.
According to a decree from the Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers, a delegation has been formed to negotiate with Azerbaijani representatives on the construction of a cultural centre, a sports school, and an arts centre in the city.
Deputy Minister of Community and Territorial Development Marina Denisyuk has been appointed head of the delegation.
Azerbaijan's involvement in Ukraine's recovery dates back to the early days of Russia's full-scale invasion in February 2022, when Baku provided immediate humanitarian supplies, including food, medicine, and generators.
Irpin, a suburb of Kyiv, suffered extensive destruction as a result of the war with Russia—over 70% of buildings were damaged or destroyed, with hundreds of civilian casualties. Azerbaijan's focus on Irpin began in late 2022, evolving into targeted projects to rebuild social infrastructure.
