Media: Türkiye intensifies contacts on grain deal with Ukraine, US, EU
Türkiye has stepped up diplomatic work with the United States, the European Union and Ukraine on a grain deal ahead of a possible meeting between Russian and Turkish presidents Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
As TASS reports via a diplomatic source, work in this direction is being carried out by the Foreign Ministry, the Defense Ministry and the Trade Ministry.
According to the source, on the eve of the talks between the Turkish and Russian leaders, the work on eliminating the problems "facing the implementation of the grain initiative" has intensified.
Earlier, Turkish TV channel A Haber said about a possible meeting between Erdogan and Putin in late August or September. Ankara and Moscow have not yet decided who will go to visit and who will be the host. The UN, Ukraine and Türkiye believe that the Turkish president may resurrect the grain deal, which Russia withdrew from on July 18.
