Mexican ambassador: More women should be involved in political life

Ambassador of Mexico to Azerbaijan Maria Victoria Romero Caballero has said that Mexico considers it important to increase the role and participation of women in the country’s political life.

The ambassador made these remarks at the international conference on women empowerment held in Azerbaijan’s capital Baku, according to Report.

The diplomat thanked the Azerbaijani government for organizing such an important event in protecting women's rights.

She noted that the Mexican government is implementing many programs aimed at activating women’s participation in the country’s socio-political life.

“We must fight for women's rights and freedoms for a better future,” she said.
