MFA: Azerbaijan not interested in escalation

Unlike Armenia, Azerbaijan is not interested in escalation.

According to Caliber.Az, the remarks came from the Spokesperson to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry Leyla Abdullayeva on Twitter.

"Another false accusation by Armenia. Same scenario: Armenia violates ceasefire, kills Azerbaijani soldiers. Azerbaijan takes reactive measures, here come Armenian allegations. Armenia’s new pretext to disrupt negotiations. Unlike Armenia, Azerbaijan is not interested in escalation," she wrote on Twitter.

As the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan reported earlier, on September 28, at about 18:00, units of the Armenian armed forces opened fire on units of the Azerbaijani army in the direction of the Kalbajar region, as a result of which a serviceman of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces was seriously injured. In response to the provocation and gross violation of the ceasefire by the Armenian side, the Azerbaijani army took retaliatory measures.
