MFA: Azerbaijan’s embassies in Iran, Israel remain operational
Azerbaijan’s embassies in Iran and Israel, along with its consulate in Tabriz, are continuing their operations despite escalating hostilities between the two countries, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Aykhan Hajizada said in a statement to APA on June 20.
Hajizada added that there are no reports of Azerbaijani citizens being killed or injured amid the ongoing reciprocal attacks between Israel and Iran, Caliber.Az reports.
On June 13, Israel launched extensive air raids targeting sites linked to Iran’s nuclear and military infrastructure, including facilities in Natanz and Fordow, as well as Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) positions. In response to the deteriorating security situation, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry had earlier issued a strong travel advisory, urging Azerbaijani citizens to avoid non-essential travel to both Iran and Israel, and advising those currently in either country to remain vigilant and prioritise their safety.
