MFA: Azerbaijani embassy in Ukraine continues operations despite missile strike
The Embassy of Azerbaijan in Ukraine remains operational following a missile strike in Kyiv, according to Aykhan Hajizada, head of the Press Service Department of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA).
Speaking to APA, Hajizada stated that there are no plans to evacuate embassy staff, Caliber.Az reports.
A reminder that earlier on November 14 at around 1:00 a.m. Kyiv time, an Iskander-type missile landed on the grounds of Azerbaijan’s embassy, causing extensive damage. Part of the perimeter wall was destroyed, and the administrative building, consular section, service vehicles, and other facilities sustained significant structural harm. No casualties were reported.
In response, Azerbaijan summoned the Russian Federation’s Ambassador to Baku, Mikhail Yevdokimov, to the Foreign Ministry, where an official note of protest was delivered.
