MFA: Iranian Border Guard Command’s statement has nothing to do with Azerbaijani border

A spokesperson for the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry Leyla Abdullayeva has said that the Azerbaijani-Iranian state border is known as the border of friendship and cooperation.

Abdullayeva was commenting on the information that a statement was made on September 23 by the Iranian Border Guard Command on revealing and detention of a terrorist group in the territory of the Khudaferin border region given that the Khudaferin region borders Azerbaijan, according to Caliber.Az.

She noted that the experience of mutually beneficial cooperation between Azerbaijani and Iranian border guards is exemplary.

“The occasional border violation and cases of smuggling are regulated within the direct contacts of commanders on the spot. Today's statement of the Iranian Border Guard Command has nothing to do with the Azerbaijani-Iranian state border,” the spokesperson said.
