MFA: We strongly condemn terrorist attack against Azerbaijani embassy in Iran

"We strongly condemn the treacherous #TerrorAct against Azerbaijan’s Embassy in Iran. We demand to identify and punish the perpetrators of this bloody act in the most severe manner. We offer our sincere condolences to the victim’s families and wish speedy recovery to those wounded," the ministry's spokesman Aykhan Hajizade tweeted, Caliber.Az reports.

An armed attack on the Azerbaijani embassy in Iran was committed on January 27 morning. The attacker broke through to the security post of the diplomatic mission and killed the head of the security service by using a Kalashnikov assault rifle.

Two embassy security guards were also injured while repelling the attack. Their health condition is satisfactory. The attacker on the Azerbaijani embassy was detained.
