Military prosecutor's office comments on mine explosion in Azerbaijan’s Kalbajar

Azerbaijani Kalbajar military prosecutor office’s information on the explosion of a mine in the district has gone viral.

Commander of the N military unit of the Azerbaijani Defence Ministry Vugar Isbandiyarov was wounded as a result of mine explosion in the liberated Kalbajar district on July 26, Trend reports with reference to the prosecutor's office.

“Employees of the military prosecutor's office inspected the scene, arranged forensic medical expertise and conducted other procedural actions.

During the preliminary investigation, the investigative bodies revealed that Isbandiyarov was severely wounded as a result of an explosion on an anti-personnel mine when he was on duty in Jamilli village of the Kalbajar district.

A criminal case was initiated in the Military Prosecutor's Office of the Kalbajar district under Article 29, 120.2.12 (premeditated murder, attempted murder based on national, racial, religious hatred) of the Azerbaijani Criminal Code.

“The investigation is underway," the ministry said.
