Minister: Azerbaijan hails UN support in achieving Sustainable Development Goals

Azerbaijan appreciates the United Nation’s (UN) support in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The remarks came from Ecology and Natural Resources Minister Mukhtar Babayev during the annual high-level strategic consultations between Azerbaijan and the UN in liberated Aghdam, according to Report.

The minister highlighted the fact that, apart from Azerbaijan, no other country in the Caucasus has yet acceded to the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) Water Convention.

"This Convention is the only existing platform where countries in the region can effectively cooperate by joining forces to solve transboundary water problems," the minister said.
