Minister: Azerbaijan preparing for COP29 at highest level
Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources and COP29 President-designate Mukhtar Babayev is gearing up for a pivotal event as preparations for COP29, the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, are well underway.
Scheduled to take place in Azerbaijan's capital, Baku, this November, COP29 promises to be an occasion not only to address climate issues but also to showcase Azerbaijan's rich culture and natural beauty, the minister told journalists on May 23, Report informs.
He said preparations for COP29 continue: "Azerbaijan is working on holding this event at the highest level," he told journalists on May 23.
The 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 29) will be held in Azerbaijan's capital Baku in November this year. The decision was made at the plenary meeting of COP28 held in Dubai on 11 December 2023. Baku will host about 70,000-80,000 foreign guests during the event.
