Minister: Iranian threat seen similarly by Israel, Azerbaijan
Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen has said that Israel and Azerbaijan feel equally threatened by Iran.
He made the remarks following a meeting with his Azerbaijani counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov in Tel Aviv on March 29, according to Report.
"Israel and Azerbaijan share the same perception of Iranian threats. The Iranian regime threatens our regions, finances, tourism and destabilises the entire Middle East. We must act together to prevent Iran from building a nuclear capability. The way to do that is to use political and economic tools and also to form a credible and resolute military force," Report quotes Cohen as saying.
The Israeli foreign minister also said that he will visit Azerbaijan in April.
"Our delegation will visit Azerbaijan to improve trade ties between our countries," Cohen said, lauding the huge potential for the development of relations between the two states.
"Israel will make every effort to expand ties with Azerbaijan in economic, technological and other areas," the minister added.
