Minister: Israel among Azerbaijan's 10 main trade partners
Azerbaijani Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov has said that Israel is among 10 main trade partners.
Jabbarov made the statement during a speech at an event to mark the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Israel, Report informs.
"Israel is one of the ten main trade partners of Azerbaijan. According to the indicators for the first seven months of this year, trade turnover has increased by more than twofold."
He noted that the Azerbaijani-Israeli intergovernmental joint commission, co-chaired by him is a crucial platform for the development of bilateral relations and contributes to the expansion of cooperation, along with other areas.
"The Israeli embassy has been operating in our country for 29 years and plays an important role in diversifying and deepening bilateral relations. Azerbaijan's tourist and trade representative offices opened in Israel in 2021. In addition, representatives of Israel's official and business circles regularly visit Azerbaijan and productive discussions are held. This year, a round table was organised with the participation of members of the Azerbaijani-Israeli Chamber of Commerce and an Azerbaijani-Israeli business forum was held. Azerbaijan's liberation of its lands during the 44-day Patriotic War created new realities and new opportunities for regional and international cooperation. We invite Israeli companies to take advantage of these opportunities. We believe that the relations of friendship and cooperation between Azerbaijan and Israel will continue to develop dynamically and deepen," Jabbarov added.
