Minister Zakir Hasanov: Azerbaijani Army always stands by fraternal Türkiye Defence Ministry holds meeting
A staff meeting chaired by Defence Minister Colonel General Zakir Hasanov was held on February 11.
The press service of the Defence Ministry told Caliber.Az that at the meeting, Zakir Hasanov conveyed instructions from Azerbaijani President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev on the provision of comprehensive assistance to earthquake-stricken Türkiye.
Hasanov thanked military personnel and their families who took an active part in the collection of aid in the points organized in military units of the Ministry of Defenсe to support victims of the earthquake in Türkiye.
Highly assessing the work of our military-medical personnel assigned to Kahramanmarash, the minister stressed that the Azerbaijani Army always stands by brotherly Türkiye.
After delivering instructions from Supreme Commander-in-Chief on the combat readiness of units of the Azerbaijani Army, Zakir Hasanov was briefed on the results of inspections of the combat readiness of subunits. Highly appreciating the results of inspections, the minister gave instructions on the organisation of combat training measures in accordance with close to real combat conditions.
During the meeting, the current conditions on the border and in the territories in the Karabakh Economic Region, where the Russian peacekeeping contingent is temporarily deployed, were analysed in detail. Colonel General Hasanov gave specific instructions for taking preventive measures against possible threats.
Speaking of the Winter Exercise 2023 in Kars, Zakir Hasanov noted that the Turkish Defence Minister agrees with him on the high professionalism of soldiers taking part in the exercise.
The meeting noted the importance of maintaining a high level of combat capability of units stationed in areas with difficult terrain, and in areas with harsh climatic conditions, as well as the importance of observing safety regulations and taking necessary fire-fighting measures when performing service and combat tasks. Specific instructions were given to increase vigilance while on combat duty.
Afterwards, the minister was briefed on the activities of military training institutions and gave instructions in connection with the work carried out in this direction. In addition, Hasanov gave instructions concerning the care and attention to personnel, especially conscripts, further improvement of social and living conditions of servicemen, as well as issues concerning medical and engineering activities.
