More Azerbaijanis killed in Hamas attacks on Israel
Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry Spokesman Aykhan Hajizada has said that eight natives of Azerbaijan have been killed as a result of Hamas attacks on Israel, Report informs.
The names of the victims are as follows:
Shamil Abbasov (Israeli citizen)
Emin Akhundov (dual citizenship)
Ilkin Nazarov (dual citizenship)
Lior Azizov (Israeli citizen)
Roman Gandel (Israeli citizen)
Eden Abdullayev (Israeli citizen)
Emil Samuelov (Israeli citizen)
Zhiar Davidov (Israeli citizen)
In addition, Hajizada said there are no plans to evacuate Azerbaijani citizens from Israel.
He said that those wishing to leave Israel can use regular flights.
Hajizada also noted that there is no accurate information about whether there are Azerbaijanis among the hostages of the Hamas group.
Moreover, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has helped Azerbaijanis in conflict zones in the Middle East to contact their relatives in Azerbaijan.
From January to June 2023, ICRC employees ensured the transfer of 13 letters between them.
During the mentioned period, the committee contacted the families of 996 people missing as a result of conflicts. At the same time, 24 meetings were held with detainees (in 11 detention centres) to assess conditions.
Besides, ICRC-trained psychologists conducted 946 psychological support sessions for children and adults.
