Evacuation flight brings about 200 Azerbaijanis home from Middle East updated
An evacuation flight from Muscat in Oman has brought Azerbaijani citizens back to Azerbaijan as part of ongoing efforts to return nationals from the Middle East.
According to Caliber.Az, the aircraft — a Boeing 787 Dreamliner operated by Azerbaijan Airlines, Azerbaijan’s leading carrier — completed the Muscat–Baku route and landed at Heydar Aliyev International Airport at 13:25 local time in Baku.
The evacuation flight was organised to repatriate Azerbaijani citizens who had remained in the United Arab Emirates and other countries in the Middle East.
Around 200 Azerbaijani citizens safely returned to the country on board the flight.

More than 200 Azerbaijani citizens are being evacuated from the Middle East on a special flight to Baku amid ongoing regional tensions.
According to Caliber.Az, another evacuation flight is currently operating from Muscat in the Sultanate of Oman to Azerbaijan’s capital to return Azerbaijani nationals from the region, including those located in the United Arab Emirates.
The press service of Azerbaijan Airlines—Azerbaijan's leading carrier, commonly known as AZAL—said the aircraft operating the Muscat–Baku route is a Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
The plane is expected to land at Heydar Aliyev International Airport in the coming hours.
In total, more than 200 Azerbaijani citizens are expected to return safely to the country on the evacuation flight.
AZAL said it is currently ensuring the safe and orderly operation of flights in accordance with procedures established by the relevant state authorities.
