Moroccan PM describes restoration of territories by Azerbaijan as important step
Head of the Government of the Kingdom of Morocco Aziz Akhannouch has described the restoration of territories liberated from occupation by Azerbaijan as an important step as he met with Milli Majlis Speaker Sahiba Gafarova.
The Moroccan PM congratulated Azerbaijan on restoration of territorial integrity and sovereignty, Caliber.Az reports.
Speaker Gafarova informed the Prime Minister about Azerbaijan's liberation of its lands from occupation in 2020, the situation in the region in the post-conflict period, as well as Azerbaijan's peace initiatives.
She pointed out that the mines planted by Armenia are the biggest obstacle to the restoration and reconstruction of the territories liberated from occupation.
Azerbaijan and Morocco's successful cooperation within international organizations and their demonstrating solidarity was hailed. Our countries support each other in the issues of territorial integrity and sovereignty. In particular, Morocco's active participation in the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) and the work of the NAM Parliamentary Network established on the initiative of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev was underlined at the meeting.
The sides exchanged views on the importance of further development of economic ties between the two countries. They also discussed the ways to develop cooperation between Azerbaijan and Morocco in transport, tourism, agriculture and other spheres, emphasizing the need to intensify economic ties.
The meeting also focused on the possibility of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Morocco within the reconstruction works carried out in the liberated territories.
