Moscow: Attacks on Russian airfields may pose risks for nuclear safety
Head of the Russian delegation to the Vienna Negotiations on Military Security and Arms Control Konstantin Gavrilov has said that attacks on the Russian Dyagilevo and Engels strategic airfields could pose big risks to nuclear security.
The text of Gavrilov’s speech at the plenary session of the OSCE Forum for Security Cooperation has been published on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
The head of the Russian delegation noted that specialists from the Ukrainian Luch Design Bureau and the US Raytheon Technologies Corporation were restoring and modernising the Soviet Tu-141 (Strizh) drones during 2022, which were used to commit the provocation.
As a result, the drone turned out to be a strike weapon with a range of up to 1,000 km, a high-explosive warhead of up to 80 kg and the ability to aim at a target using the global GPS satellite system.
