Moscow dispatches emergency aircraft to Azerbaijan Details
The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations has begun evacuating Russian nationals from Azerbaijan after they previously crossed into the country by land from Iran, the ministry’s press service announced on March 3.
According to the statement, a special Il-76 aircraft departed from Zhukovsky Airport, located near Moscow, to Azerbaijan to transport the evacuees back to the Russian capital, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
Medical personnel from the ministry’s emergency response teams, including doctors and psychologists, were on board the flight to provide necessary medical and psychological assistance during the operation.
The evacuation was carried out in line with instructions from President Vladimir Putin and under the orders of the head of the ministry, Alexander Kurenkov.
