Nakhchivan hosts events on return to Western Azerbaijan

A festival on "Return to Western Azerbaijan" and a congress under the motto "Road leading to Western Azerbaijan" have got underway in Nakhchivan.

The festival featured the presentation of samples of the Western Azerbaijanis’ folklore, the organisation of a book fair, stands with culinary and material culture samples, and a concert program, and the screening of films dedicated to Western Azerbaijan, according to Report.

Samples of literature, scientific research, collection of articles, and paintings dedicated to Western Azerbaijan will also be presented on the sidelines of the festival.

The festival and congress are co-organized by the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, the Ministry of Science and Education, Nakhchivan State University and the Western Azerbaijan Community.

The event participants also visited the monument to the national leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev in the center of the city of Nakhchivan to pay tribute to his memory.

At the Heydar Aliyev Museum, the visitors familiarized themselves with photos and exhibits reflecting the life and activity of the great leader.
