Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov welcomed the newly appointed Ambassador of Pakistan, Qasim Moinuddin, in Baku, on July 30.

This meeting marked the beginning of Moinuddin's diplomatic mission in Azerbaijan, following the presentation of his credentials to the minister.

During the meeting, Bayramov congratulated Moinuddin on his new role and expressed his wishes for a successful tenure, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Foreign Ministry.

The newly appointed ambassador pledged to work diligently to enhance the already strong relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan.

Key topics of discussion included the strategic partnership between the two nations, the implementation of agreements reached during the Azerbaijani President's recent official visit to Pakistan, and future collaboration plans. Both parties praised the existing cooperation and stressed the importance of deepening ties across various sectors.

The conversation also highlighted the significance of mutual support in multilateral forums, such as the United Nations, and within regional and international organizations like the Non-Aligned Movement and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

Minister Bayramov congratulated Pakistan on its election to the United Nations Security Council for the 2025-2026 term.

He also noted that the upcoming 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) presents additional opportunities for high-level engagement between Azerbaijan and Pakistan.
