New training session for Azerbaijani reservists focuses on mastering small arms pHOTO / VIDEO

As part of Azerbaijan's 2025 training plan, approved by the defence minister, a new training session for reservists has begun, featuring practical lessons on disassembling, reassembling, and properly using small arms employed by Azerbaijan Army units.

This session, which brings together a group of reservists called up from the reserve, is being carried out in cooperation with the State Service for Mobilisation and Conscription, the Azerbaijani Defence Ministry told Caliber.Az.

The training is taking place at one of the Azerbaijan Navy’s military units. Following this, the next phase of the training saw reservists participating in practical shooting exercises using the small arms they were taught to handle. The training session also included vital first aid training, where the participants learned essential techniques for providing first aid and practiced methods for evacuating the wounded from the field. 

The goal of the training is to familiarise the reservists with the tactical and technical characteristics of modern weapons and military equipment currently in use by the Azerbaijan Army. It also aims to enhance their practical skills, expand their military knowledge, and introduce new expertise that is essential for maintaining readiness and operational efficiency. 

This training session forms part of a broader initiative to ensure that Azerbaijan’s military reserves remain well-equipped and prepared for any future challenges. The programme emphasises the importance of continuous improvement and adaptation to modern warfare techniques and technology.
