Niger says it seeks to deepen relations with Azerbaijan PHOTO
Niger expresses interest in deepening relations with Azerbaijan and its Milli Majlis (Parliament), Mamoudou Harouna Djingarey, Chairman of Niger’s Advisory Council, has stated during a meeting with Speaker Sahiba Gafarova.
He noted that his country seeks to benefit from Azerbaijan’s experience in several areas, including the efficient management of energy resources, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
The meeting included an exchange of views on prospects for strengthening cooperation between the two countries and their parliaments.
Both sides highlighted collaboration between their legislative bodies within international parliamentary frameworks.
In this context, they stressed the importance of mutual support within organizations such as the Inter-Parliamentary Union, the Parliamentary Network of the Non-Aligned Movement, and the Parliamentary Union of OIC Member States.
Sahiba Gafarova briefed the Nigerien delegation on the activities of the Parliamentary Network of the Non-Aligned Movement, which was established in 2021 on the initiative of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
She noted that the network has developed significantly over the past five years in terms of institutional capacity and international influence.
Djingarey praised Azerbaijan’s achievements, stating that many countries had not been able to accomplish in decades what Azerbaijan has achieved in recent years.
