Nizami Ganjavi Centre holds preparatory meeting for Global Baku Forum PHOTO
The Nizami Ganjavi International Centre has held a preparatory meeting for the 26th High-Level Meeting and XI Global Baku Forum.
The Nizami Ganjavi International Centre held meetings with UN Secretary-General António Guterres and heads of several agencies of the world organization, the centre told Report.
Following the meetings, the centre organises high-level meetings with the heads of UN agencies to hold discussions on strengthening the existing cooperation.
A delegation from the centre held meetings with the 77th (incumbent) President of the UN General Assembly Chaba Qureshi, the 78th (elected) President Dennis Francis, the administrator of the UN Development Programme, Achim Steiner, Chief Executive Officer and President of the US National Committee on Foreign Policy Susan Elliott and the Office of the High Representative of the UN Alliance of Civilisations.
The centre was represented at the meetings by Ismail Sarageldin, Co-Chair and former Vice President of the World Bank, Zlatko Lagumdzija, former Prime Minister of Bosnia and Herzegovina and UN Ambassador, and Rovshan Muradov, Secretary General.
During the meetings, discussions were held on the 26th High-Level Meeting of the centre to be held in New York in September on the margins of the UN General Assembly and the preparatory phase of the XI Global Baku Forum scheduled for March 2024.
