No Azerbaijani casualties reported as Israel-Iran tensions escalate Official Statement
Amid escalating air strikes exchanged between Israel and Iran, Azerbaijani authorities have confirmed that, to date, there have been no Azerbaijani citizens reported among the casualties.
In an official statement responding to enquiries from local media, Aykhan Hajizada, spokesperson for the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs, assured that no information has been received by the country’s embassies or consulates regarding Azerbaijani nationals injured or killed in the ongoing conflict, Caliber.Az reports.
On June 13, the Consulate General of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Tabriz has issued an urgent warning amid rising tensions between Israel and Iran. Azerbaijani citizens currently in Iran are advised to avoid travel to the country unless absolutely necessary and to exercise extreme caution.
The Consulate urges citizens to stay away from areas near military and nuclear facilities and to follow all local security instructions closely.
In case of emergency, Azerbaijani nationals can contact the Embassy in Tehran or the Consulate General in Tabriz for assistance.
The Consulate General stated:
“Citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan currently in the Islamic Republic of Iran are requested to observe security and safety regulations, not to go to areas near military and nuclear facilities, and to act in accordance with the security instructions issued by local authorities.”
