No current plans for meeting among Russian, Azerbaijani, Armenian leaders official says
Aide to the Russian president Yury Ushakov has said that leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia, Vladimir Putin, Ilham Aliyev and Nikol Pashinyan, are not currently planning a trilateral meeting to normalise relations between Baku and Yerevan.
“There has been no agreement on a trilateral meeting. However, such an idea was discussed,” he told reporters, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
Ushakov added that Russia does not oppose this format.
The aide to the president announced on October 7 that all preliminary work on a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan had been completed in Moscow.
On October 6, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry stated that Baku urges Yerevan to choose between normalising relations and confrontation at all levels. Azerbaijan called on Armenia to "demonstrate political will and responsibility" to eliminate remaining obstacles in the path to a logical conclusion of the normalisation process between the two countries.
On October 7, Armenian authorities once again proposed establishing mutual control over weapons with Azerbaijan and suggested developing relevant mechanisms, noting that Azerbaijan has not responded to this initiative.
