Northern Cyprus PM praises president Aliyev for boosting Turkic unity
Northern Cyprus Prime Minister Ünal Üstel expressed gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev for his support and praised him for strengthening the Turkic world at the second meeting of the Heads of Government and Vice Presidents of the Member States of the Organisation of Turkic States (OTS) in Baku.
“I express my thanks personally, on behalf of my government and our people, who have never retreated in the struggle for freedom, to President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, who empowers us with his unwavering belief in Turkic unity and boundless support for Northern Cyprus,” Üstel said, according to local media.
He also emphasised that the relationship between Azerbaijan, Türkiye, and Northern Cyprus, built on the principle of “One Nation – Three States,” should serve as a model for the entire Organisation of Turkic States.
“Our goal is to further strengthen this sincere and deep bond with all member states and to successfully complete the process of full membership for Northern Cyprus. Northern Cyprus is ready to become a full member of the OTS. Although some centres of the world ignore us, as you can see, we exist. We have our own state, institutions, parliament, and most importantly, a people living freely and sovereignly under our flag with the support of our homeland. We will endure forever with your support and the support of our people,” he added.
